The past, present and future of the Pajić winery
The vineyards of "Pajić Winery" are located at the place where Posavina and Semberija meet with the Majevica Mountain. The first vines were planted in 2014 in the village of Bukvik, located at 168 meters above sea level. From the land registers established by the Austro-Hungarians, hundreds of land parcels can be found, which are registered under the name of vineyards. The reason why they are not there today in those locations is not described anywhere, so the only explanation is the fact that the vineyard that were hit by grape phylloxera at the beginning of the 20th century, which devastated vineyards in Europe, were not restored.
The village of Bukvik, until the end of the 19th century, was called Ljubniča. In the Celtic-Illyrian dictionary by Petko Nikolić, it is explained that this is a name that denotes a fertile - blessed land, which the Celts recorded as early as the 6th to 3rd centuries BC.
Today we are witnessing the cultivation of top-quality grape varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc on this land).
In the village of Ražljevo, which is located at the junction of Semberija and Majevica, there are vineyards on an area of 8 hectares. These are the plantings of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Sauvignon Cabernet, White Muscadine and Hamburg Muscat.
We are proud of the fact that all our vineyards grow grapes that are cultivated by hand and without the use of herbicides. If today we can say that something is produced in an ecologically acceptable way, then it is wine from our vineyards.

Winery
Pajić Winery was founded in 2017 with a capacity of 35,000 liters of wine. Due to the increase in the area under vines, and the desire of the Pajić family to raise the construction and technological level of the winery to a higher level, a new winery facility was built in 2023. With 3 floors below ground and 2 floors above, with a total area of 2,400, this facility has increased the capacity of the winery to 400,000 liters
In the coming time, the task of the Pajić family is to create a new wine region by means of these activities, which has already been indicated in the wine map of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the construction of our winery.
The newly built facility has a wine fermentation area with a total tank capacity of 100,000 liters of wine. The space is designed to accommodate a tank capacity of 250,000 liters of wine, which is a goal that new generations of the family should achieve.
In the barrique hall, there are oak barrels of 225 l and 500 l with a capacity of 25,000 liters. The space has the possibility to accommodate barrels that would reach a capacity of 150,000 liters.
By creating the winery, the Pajić family took on a very difficult and responsible role to restore the tradition of viticulture and winemaking in the region of northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina to the level it was at 100 years ago and revive the wine culture. To fulfill this role, we invite all wine lovers and those who are ready to enter the world of getting to know the drink of the gods and love, to visit our winery.
