Grape variety
Chardonnay is a French variety, originally from Burgundy (Central-East France). As assumed the name Chardonnay comes from the name of a Burgundy village Chardonnay. The analysis of this wine showed that this variety had resulted from a natural crossing between Pinot and the old variety Gouais Blanc. It has been well known for its easy adaptation which makes it one of the most cultivated grape varieties in the world.
